Shame on me !!

Shame on me, I didn't write for quite a while ! I've been on vacation, just one week, but it was great ! The boys had a lot of fun in Plopsaland, it's an amusement park in Belgium.

When I came back the orders where piling up in my mailbox so no time to write ! Last week I received an package from Mia Bengtsson from Sweden, 25 copies of her new book Virka Amigurumi. It's so great !!! I already made a lot of Dutch crochet girls happy with a copy ! I also received lots of other great stuff, ribbons, buttons, books and Clover gadgets. I'm waiting for a new delivery with another kind of cotton. I would like to offer more kinds of wool and cotton in my shop. I'm busy to contact some wholesalers right now. More wool = more fun !

I also got an e-mail yesterday from Merel. She owns a shop that's similar to mine, La Silvia. She wrote me she's quitting. Here shop was the only one that sold amigurumi products, next to mine, so there is no more competion in the Netherlands at this point. We started or shops about the same time, I don't know exactly what she is gonna sell in her new shop, but Merel I want to wish you good luck on your new store !

Strange isn't it. I'm selling Amigurumi stuff for about 1,5 years now and I can see my clientele grow each day. I almost got 400 persons on my Hyves right now ! Quit a lot for such a little store. I never knew so many people would be interested in Amigurumi. Amigurumi is hot ! It's popping up at the strangest places. In the newspapers, in magazines, in TV shows. It's great ! Crochet is back again !

It's finally here !

It's even better then I've imagined! This new felt book of Tabatha Naomi. Somehow it takes you back to the 60's and 70's vintage. What a cute creatures and also very cool applications and bags. I'm not proud to admit that I took one copy for my own collection, again. If I continue to do this I will probably need a new bookcase because I'm just a greedy little creature :)

Handmade !

Our baby boy is two years old today ! Where did the time go ! This year we made a little kitchen for him, everything miniature. It has cost us days and a lot of patients and a couple of paint buckets but I'm so happy with the result ! It's so cute ! You should have seen his face this morning when he got his present ! Friends and family all brought little wooden kitchen gifts to fill his kitchen. The kids kitchen you can buy in the store are almost all made for girls or the colors are too ugly ;) Well enough about the kitchen now...here are some pics !

And the winner is trrrrrrrr (drums).....

The make your Winston match was closed last Sunday so the professional jury did their best to choose a winner. There were over 30 different little elephants to choose from so it was quit difficult. But in the end they where unanimously little grey Winston on a stool has won ! The lucky creator is already informed and she was real happy to hear the exiting news !

I love Japan !!

I do, I do love Japan. I've never been there, probably never will be, but I do love their vison on crafts. There level off creativity is far beyond or dusty Dutch designers of socks en sweaters. You already know I love to crochet, but I also have a soft spot for felting. Just look at this book I ordered for the shop. Brand new and so cute !!

Ik hou van Japan !

Ik hou van Japan. Ik ben er nog nooit geweest en het is nog maar de vraag of ik er ooit zal komen maar ik hou van hun visie op handwerken. Het niveau van creativiteit ligt zoveel hoger dan dat van onze Nederlandse geitenwollensokken ontwerpers. Je weet inmiddels dat ik graag haak maar ik heb ook een zwak voor vilten. Neem nu dit boekje wat ik besteld heb voor de winkel. Net nieuw, zo schattig !

What's this ???


I admit, I should be working on my cat-bowlingset right now but I got distracted by this brainwave I got yesterday. I took my sweet pink cotton and just started to crochet. Before I knew this little creature was looking at me. With her big black eyes she was asking me....Who am I ?? I really don't know who or what she is, a drop off ice-cream or cotton candy but she is a very cute pink creature !







Wat is dit nou ?

Oké ik geef het toe, ik zou nu eigenlijk druk bezig moeten zijn met het haken van 8 katten voor mijn kegelspel maar dit moest even tussen door. Ik zag het ineens voor me en heb mijn roze bol katoen gepakt en ben gaan haken. Uiteindelijk was dit het resultaat. Ik weet ook nog niet eens of hij al af is. Ze keek me met grote ogen aan en vroeg: " Wat ben ik eigenlijk" Ik weet het ook niet. Een druppel ijs, suikerspin maar het is wel een schattig wezentje !

I just finished my first cat. I still have to do some embroidery but then this one is fininished. Eight more and a ball to go !

De eerste basketball kat is af ! Ik moet er nog een beetje op borduren maar dan is hij echt klaar. Nu nog 8 te gaan en een basketball natuurlijk !
